Some older homes were built using asbestos shingles for roofs and siding.  This can cause difficulty getting insurance.  Some other issues: How old is the roof?  Has the elctric and plumbing been updated?  Most companies will require a 4 point  inspection to show the house is up to date and in good condition.  This can be an added expense you were not prepared for.  What type of pipes does the house have?  Has there been any prior water damage losses at the residence? How about sinkholes? Any mold?  It is a good idea to find out the answers to these questions before you buy.  Call us today for more "things you need to know".
